Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remastered Launches on Nintendo Switch May 2025

Capcom has officially confirmed that Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remastered will arrive on Nintendo Switch and other major platforms on May 23, 2025.

The news was unveiled during Sony's recent 'State of Play' broadcast, accompanied by a new trailer demonstrating the enhancements made to this beloved action-adventure classic.

Pre-orders for the digital edition are already live on the Nintendo eShop, with the remaster set at a price of $29.99 USD (regional equivalents apply) and estimated to require 14.6 GB of storage space. Originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny quickly established itself as a genre-defining title, selling over 2.1 million copies worldwide—a milestone for the franchise.

The game drew attention for its cinematic storytelling and action-driven swordplay, with its protagonist, Jubei Yagyu, modeled after the acclaimed Japanese actor Yusaku Matsuda.

Capcom’s remaster continues this tradition, bringing the adventure through feudal Japan to a new generation of players on the Nintendo Switch.
