Octopath Traveler 0 Announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch: Square Enix Reveals Prequel Release Date

Square Enix has officially unveiled Octopath Traveler 0, the highly anticipated prequel to its critically acclaimed RPG franchise, Octopath Traveler.

Set to launch worldwide on December 4, 2025, the new title will be available both at retail and digitally through the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, expanding the series' reach on both current and next-generation Nintendo hardware. He further explained that the title, Octopath Traveler 0, was chosen to reflect the origin story for a new journey and that the game is packed with fresh experiences suitable for both series veterans and those new to the world of Octopath. Since its inception, the Octopath Traveler series has garnered widespread acclaim for its visually stunning HD-2D graphics, memorable soundtracks, and deep, strategic combat.
