The announcement comes from AIC, the official Nintendo distributor in the country, who cited global market conditions as the primary reason behind the adjustment.

This marks the first confirmed price change for the Nintendo Switch 2 since its initial release, affecting both standalone hardware units and select bundles. Starting July 8, 2025, the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 console will be priced at SAR2,149 (approximately USD573), up from its previous retail price of SAR1,999 (around USD533).

In addition to the base hardware, the popular Mario Kart World bundle will also see its cost rise to SAR2,349 (about USD626).

These changes position the Nintendo Switch 2 among the most premium console offerings in the Saudi Arabian market. AIC explained the rationale for the adjustments, stating succinctly that the changes are "a result of global market conditions." While specifics regarding these conditions were not detailed, this language commonly refers to economic factors such as shifts in currency exchange rates, increased manufacturing costs, or logistics challenges impacting global electronics distribution. Importantly, the distributor clarified that the price changes are limited specifically to the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and the Mario Kart World bundle.

Existing prices for Nintendo Switch 2 software, accessories, and other Nintendo Switch products will remain unaffected at this time, ensuring game and accessory availability at stable pricing for Saudi gamers. The Nintendo Switch 2 builds on the massive success of its predecessor, which has sold over 125 million units worldwide since launching in 2017.

As with previous Nintendo hardware launches, the Nintendo Switch 2 has generated strong demand, with day-one availability through official retail channels and the Nintendo eShop.
