Nintendo has officially announced that US pre-orders for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will reopen on April 24, 2025.
The gaming giant’s latest hardware refresh continues the company’s track record for innovative consoles, following the considerable success of the original Nintendo Switch, which has now surpassed 125 million units sold worldwide since its 2017 launch.
In a statement provided by Nintendo, the company assured fans and consumers that the base price for the Nintendo Switch 2 will remain at $449.99.
This confirmation comes after some speculation regarding potential price hikes influenced by newly implemented market tariffs, particularly around the Liberation Day import changes.
Despite these external economic pressures, Nintendo stated that the suggested retail price for both the console and its main bundles will remain respectful of the initial announcement.
The Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle will also maintain its price tag of $499.99.
Furthermore, the prices for major upcoming software titles such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza continue to be set at $79.99 and $69.99 respectively, reflecting Nintendo’s commitment to price stability for the key entries in their storied game franchises.
However, Nintendo has acknowledged a modest increase in accessory prices, adjusted upward by approximately $5, citing "changes in market conditions." This adjustment affects various peripherals, and the company indicated that these prices may be subject to further review depending on ongoing economic circumstances.
