Nintendo has confirmed a significant update regarding amiibo pricing in North America, marking the first widespread increase across its collectible figurine line in several years.
Announced via the official My Nintendo website, legacy amiibo figures that previously retailed at $15.99 are now listed at $19.99.
In addition, premium amiibo releases—including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Ganondorf—have risen from $19.99 to $29.99.
This adjustment follows a recent statement from Nintendo explaining that price changes are being implemented across certain hardware and accessory categories due to current economic conditions.
While, as of publication, most third-party retailers have not yet updated their amiibo prices to match Nintendo’s adjustments, it is expected that broader industry-wide changes will be enacted soon as inventory cycles update and new shipments begin.
Nintendo fans may recall that amiibo first launched in 2014, offering both interactive in-game functionality and collectible value.
Over the past decade, amiibo has become a highly regarded part of the Nintendo ecosystem, supporting dozens of games, from Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
This latest change marks the most notable price increase in series history and comes alongside similar adjustments to hardware.
Notably, Nintendo confirmed that the original Nintendo Switch and select accessories planned for the next-generation Switch 2 system will see corresponding price hikes effective August 3, 2024.
A Nintendo spokesperson outlined the rationale behind the new pricing structure, noting that global market pressures and increased production costs have necessitated these adjustments.
They emphasized a commitment to delivering quality products and maintaining value for fans and collectors.
While amiibo figures are still widely available online and at major retailers, consumers are encouraged to purchase now if looking to secure current pricing before further changes ripple throughout distribution channels.
Moving forward, Nintendo Watchers and amiibo collectors should stay alert to these new prices becoming standard across retail partners and digital storefronts, including the Nintendo eShop.
Nintendo’s consistent communication and proactive updates are expected to help fans navigate these changes effectively.
