Description

Nintendo continues to celebrate its rich puzzle game heritage by expanding the Nintendo Music app for Switch Online subscribers.

This week, Nintendo has added new soundtracks from some of the most iconic puzzle titles in its history, including both the Game Boy and NES versions of Tetris, along with the NES rendition of Dr.

Mario.

These additions reinforce Nintendo's commitment to preserving and sharing the audio legacy of its classic titles for new and veteran fans alike. Tetris, developed by Alexey Pajitnov and brought to the Game Boy in 1989, became a worldwide sensation thanks to its addictive gameplay and memorable music.

The NES version, released shortly after in 1989, offered its own take on the enduring classic.

Similarly, Dr.

Mario, released in 1990, became an essential part of Nintendo’s puzzle game repertoire, praised for its quirky virus-busting gameplay and energetic soundtrack. Subscribers will find a wealth of nostalgic content in this latest update.

The Game Boy Tetris soundtrack offers 18 tracks and runs for roughly 10 minutes, featuring iconic tunes such as "A-Type," "B-Type," and the famous "Rocket Launch" theme.

The NES Tetris soundtrack includes 9 tracks over 9 minutes, with different music variations tied to the classic gameplay modes.

Dr.

Mario for NES presents 10 tracks spanning 16 minutes and includes fan-favorite pieces like "Fever," "Chill," and climactic ending themes. In addition to content, the Nintendo Music app has been updated to Version 1.1.1, enhancing the user experience and addressing minor issues.

According to Nintendo, this latest update aims to "provide a better user experience" for everyone enjoying the service.

These soundtrack additions come on the heels of last week's release of the Super Mario Bros.

3 soundtrack, further expanding the app's catalog of classic Nintendo audio. Players looking to experience these games in full can find Tetris and Dr.

Mario available through the Switch Online retro game service.

Nintendo recently expanded its classic game library, adding Tetris (NES) and Tetris DX (Game Boy Color), giving Switch owners ample opportunities to rediscover these renowned puzzle games. The continuous enrichment of the Nintendo Music app exemplifies Nintendo's dedication to its legacy and offers longtime fans and new players alike a way to experience the unforgettable sounds that defined a generation of puzzle gaming.

As the Nintendo Switch Online service evolves, the growing library of classic soundtracks ensures that the company’s most cherished melodies remain easily accessible for music lovers and gaming enthusiasts.
