Nintendo Switch eShop Update Brings Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, and More to North America
Nintendo has rolled out its latest Nintendo Download update for North America, introducing a substantial roster of new games arriving on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
This week’s highlights showcase a diverse lineup catering to a variety of player tastes, from adorable adventures with beloved characters to deep role-playing experiences and retro-inspired challenges.
Leading the release list is 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' from developer Sunblink, which made its debut on January 30, 2024 at $39.99.
This charming title invites players to explore and rejuvenate a mysterious island alongside iconic Sanrio friends such as Hello Kitty, Kuromi, My Melody, and Cinnamoroll.
Players can create their own characters, customize their island paradise, and enjoy cooperative play in Big Adventure Park.
With crafting, collection, and friendship-building at its core, the game has already sparked interest among fans of cozy simulation games and the Sanrio brand.
Another major addition is 'Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero,' released by NIS America on January 30, 2024 with a launch price of $59.99.
As the latest tactical RPG from the team behind the celebrated Disgaea series, the game follows Marona, a girl who can interact with Phantoms, and her spectral ally Ash.
Players must assemble a squad of phantasmal allies to take on a ghostly pirate fleet, utilizing an innovative binding and merging system to unleash dynamic abilities.
This marks a significant return for a cult-favorite franchise on Nintendo Switch.
The Nintendo eShop update also sees the anticipated release of 'Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector' (Fellow Traveller, Jan 31, $24.99), the sequel to one of 2022’s most acclaimed indie RPGs.
Other notable launches include 'Laika: Aged Through Blood' (Thunderful, Jan 30, $19.99), a motorbike-fueled, hand-drawn action adventure, and classic-inspired collections such as 'Accolade Sports Collection' (QUByte Interactive, Jan 30, $19.99).
Additionally, the update features a range of experiences—from the visually engaging otome visual novel 'Genso Manège' (PQube), to strategy card battler 'Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days 2' (Bushiroad), and a trove of indie gems like 'A Rite from the Stars: Remaster Edition' (Artax Games), 'Mechanita' (eastasiasoft), and 'Wizardry: The Five Ordeals' (Game*Spark Publishing).
Nintendo’s eShop continues to grow, providing players with an ever-expanding selection of genres and gameplay experiences.
This week’s poll among fans shows strong anticipation for top titles, with 'Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector', 'Laika: Aged Through Blood', and 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' gaining the most attention.
