The company posted an official notice on its Japanese support site outlining higher charges for repairs to core internal components on both the Nintendo Switch and the newer Switch 2 hardware.
The update follows earlier cost adjustments for systems and services this year and is limited, for now, to the Japanese market.
According to Nintendo’s notice, the price increases will apply to major components such as the CPU board and LCD unit, while repairs for controllers and accessories will not be revised.
The company provided example figures to illustrate the changes: repairs for a Nintendo Switch 2 CPU board, currently priced at 27,500 yen, will increase to 37,400 yen; similarly, CPU board repairs for the original Nintendo Switch will rise from 16,500 yen to 26,400 yen.
These examples show how core board repairs will see the most significant adjustments.
Rewriting the notice in journalistic terms: Nintendo’s published example states that a Switch 2 CPU board repair will move from 27,500 yen to 37,400 yen, and the Nintendo Switch CPU board repair price will increase from 16,500 yen to 26,400 yen.
The company also indicated that repairs for display units and other internal components will see higher costs, while controller and accessory repairs remain unchanged.
Nintendo has not announced similar revisions for regions outside Japan.
The company previously adjusted repair pricing in Japan in the months before the arrival of its latest hardware family; however, this latest revision is the most recent official change and will be applied beginning 16 November 2026.
Nintendo previously cited broad economic factors when adjusting product prices earlier this year, noting “changes in market conditions” and the company’s “global business outlook” as context for pricing decisions.
Background: The Nintendo Switch platform launched in March 2017 and has since developed into a core part of Nintendo’s hardware lineup.
Nintendo continues to provide repair services and official support through region-specific channels, including its Japanese support site.
For customers in Japan who need device repairs, Nintendo’s updated fee schedule will be the reference point from 16 November 2026 onward.
The company and regional retailers have not yet provided updates about equivalent changes to repair pricing in other territories; we will report any confirmed regional announcements as they become available.
