Description

Nintendo has officially announced an exciting new initiative aimed at engaging young children and their families through the innovative 'My Mario' product line and the interactive 'Hello, Mario!' app.

Set to launch on August 26, 2025, this creative collection features a range of hands-on, educational products and digital experiences that celebrate the iconic Super Mario universe.

The 'My Mario' product line introduces a selection of wooden block sets shaped after beloved characters like Mario and Luigi, as well as classic items from the Super Mario series.

Each block is carefully crafted with young children in mind—designed to be easy to grip, safe, and durable for play.

Notably, these character blocks double as amiibo figures, allowing kids to interact with compatible Nintendo Switch games in a tactile, enriching way.

Two wooden block sets will hit stores: the three-piece Mario Wood Block Set (2,980 yen) and the extensive Mario & Friends Wood Block Set featuring thirty pieces (19,980 yen). Adding to the interactive experience, Nintendo is releasing the 'Hello, Mario!' board book, published by Shogakukan.

This vividly illustrated board book is crafted for shared enjoyment between parents and children, offering playful features like moving Mario’s mouth or rotating his face.

The 'Hello, Mario!' board book will be available both through local bookstores and online, retailing for 1,870 yen. Complementing the physical products, the 'Hello, Mario!' app is a family-friendly game for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch, launching the same day.

The free-to-download app invites children and parents to interact with a floating Mario face, which responds in real time to different touches and gestures—an approach reminiscent of the iconic face manipulation screen from Super Mario 64.

According to Nintendo, "Mario will react in a variety of ways based on user interactions, fostering interactive play between parents and young children and ensuring every reaction is a shared delight." A promotional video and preview images of the app are available on Nintendo’s official website. Visual storytelling is also a core component of the new lineup.

Nintendo will release a series of stop-motion short videos titled "It’s Me, Mario!" via the official My Mario website and additional channels.

These one-minute shorts are crafted to capture the attention of younger viewers, showcasing Mario’s expressive personality in fun and memorable scenarios. This new My Mario collection marks another milestone in Nintendo’s ongoing effort to innovate within the realms of educational toys and family entertainment.

By bridging physical play, interactive reading, and digital engagement on platforms like Nintendo Switch, Nintendo continues to expand the ways families and especially young children can connect with the Super Mario brand.
