Deltarune Chapter 5 Release Date Announced for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

Toby Fox confirms Deltarune Chapter 5 release for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

Toby Fox, creator of Undertale and lead developer of Deltarune, has announced that Deltarune Chapter 5 will be released digitally for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch on 24 June 2026.

The chapter will be distributed as a free update via the Nintendo eShop worldwide for players who already own the game.

Deltarune continues as a parallel story to Undertale, blending narrative-driven exploration with the series’ signature combat.

Players progress through action-style battles where they can choose to fight or spare enemies while uncovering the game’s mysterious world and characters.

This new chapter follows the events of Chapter 4 and expands the ongoing storyline that has drawn attention since the series’ initial releases.

Toby Fox outlined the tone and intent for Chapter 5 in recent developer commentary.

Paraphrasing his message, Fox said that after the darker atmosphere of Chapter 4 he wanted Chapter 5 to bring a lighter, more enjoyable experience — encouraging players to focus on brighter moments and enjoy one more fun adventure that complements the overall narrative.
