Publisher Electronic Arts confirmed Patch 2 will roll out at 9:00 UTC and apply to all supported systems.
Patch highlights and context
The major new feature in this update is a Wrap Editor, a customization tool that was not present in the original Hot Pursuit release.
The Wrap Editor lets players create and apply custom liveries to cars, expanding personalization options for both single-player and online races.
EA noted that player-made wraps remain private and cannot be shared directly between users, but custom wraps will be visible during online play — including cross-play sessions.
Key Wrap Editor rules and functionality (journalistic summary):
- Custom wraps are personal and cannot be exported or shared between players.
- Created wraps display during online races, including cross-play matches.
- Each wrap is limited to 300 decals or 100 MB of data, whichever limit is reached first.
- A reporting tool for inappropriate wrap content has been implemented and can be used from the multiplayer end-of-race screen.
The update also adds a selection of pre-made wraps for many cars, accessible from the showroom alongside the new editor.
Graphics and performance: Maximum Setting mode
Patch 2 introduces a new “Maximum Setting” mode targeting Gen 4+ and Gen 5 consoles.
According to the patch notes, this mode enables 4K at 60fps on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
On PS4 Pro and Xbox One X the mode runs uncapped to 4K at 50fps and above.
Stability, bug fixes and platform-specific fixes
The patch delivers broad stability improvements and memory optimizations.
Specific crash fixes include an issue during the “Protect and Swerve” event and crashes caused by excessive Autolog data retrieval.
Multiplayer lobby issues have been addressed so lobbies no longer lock to two players when switching modes and cars should not spawn on top of one another during Most Wanted events.
Visual and UI fixes listed in the official notes include corrected PlayStation Network iconography, improved VoIP reliability and icon display, fixes for missing player positions in full lobbies, and several in-world visual corrections.
Platform-specific fixes cover PlayStation session joining, an Xbox crash when switching controllers with the Xbox menu open, and a rare Nintendo Switch transition bug from lobby to race.

This update aims to expand customization options and improve overall stability for Hot Pursuit Remastered players across Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
