Nintendo fans eagerly awaiting the release of the new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sage amiibo series were met with both excitement and confusion as pre-orders went live across major US retailers on Nintendo Switch.
Announced during the recent Nintendo Direct, this highly anticipated amiibo wave celebrates the key Sages from the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
However, as the pre-order window opened, it quickly became apparent that one Sage was missing from the lineup.
As of May, US retailers such as GameStop, Walmart, and Best Buy have enabled pre-orders for three of the four new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sage amiibo: Riju, Tulin, and Sidon.
These figures are available to reserve at the new $29.99 price tag, marking their latest appearance in the expanding amiibo catalog for the Nintendo Switch.
Unfortunately, fans on social media and forums have reported that the amiibo for Yunobo, the Goron Sage, remains unavailable, with most storefronts listing his figure as “Coming Soon” and no pre-order options appearing online or in physical stores.
Despite this absence, official communication from Nintendo indicates that the Yunobo amiibo retains its scheduled North American release date of June 5, 2024.
European buyers have already secured their pre-orders at a price point of £16.99, with availability consistent across EU retailers.
With the My Nintendo Store planning to open pre-orders to selected invitees on May 8, there is anticipation that Yunobo’s release information will become clearer soon.
Responding to media inquiries regarding Yunobo’s pre-order status, Nintendo stated it is aware of the situation and is working to provide further updates as soon as possible.
As of now, no additional reasons or timelines for the delay have been provided by the company.
Looking ahead, the amiibo lineup for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is set to expand further, with Nintendo confirming that Mineru’s Construct—a pivotal character from the game—will receive its own amiibo figure in the future.
However, details regarding its design and release date remain under wraps.
In addition to the Zelda figures, amiibo collectors in the United States can also look forward to the upcoming Street Fighter 6 amiibo set, which is currently available for pre-order and is expected to release later this year.
With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom surpassing significant sales milestones and the demand for exclusive Switch hardware and collectibles at an all-time high, the interest in these new amiibo releases underscores the enduring popularity of Nintendo’s signature franchises.
As launch day approaches for the Sage amiibo series, fans continue to monitor official retailers and Nintendo’s channels for further updates on Yunobo’s availability.
