Moonlight Pale Nintendo Switch Release Window: Kickstarter-backed Survival Horror Targets Q4 2026–Q1 2027

Moonlight Pale, the hand-drawn survival horror from indie studio Blue Lily Games, is confirmed for Nintendo Switch with a target release between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, according to a joint announcement from publisher LightWitch and the development team.

The game is currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter and also targets a simultaneous Steam launch with full Steam Deck support in the same window.

Blue Lily Games is the creative partnership of artist Ao Clover and programmer Cachi Cordova.

Moonlight Pale is presented as a 2D, fully hand-illustrated survival horror set in a late 1800s female seminary.

Players assume the role of Juliette, a student at St. Birgitta’s who follows the spirit of her deceased cat into an abandoned building concealed within the school gardens.

The title combines exploration, inventory-based puzzle solving, and tense encounters with monsters and apparitions.

The developer describes two primary gameplay states.

In the first, called 'Search', Juliette explores environments, collects items, and solves inventory puzzles.

In the second, 'Caution', the game slows and focuses on evasion and close-quarters combat, where dodging, blocking, and melee options become central to survival.

The team cites inspiration from classic survival horror and indie horror RPG Maker titles while blending its own illustrated aesthetic.

Production details released by Blue Lily indicate that all base systems are implemented, a full script is complete, and voice-over work for chapters 1 and 2 has been recorded.

The Kickstarter campaign seeks roughly $16,000 USD (270,000 MXN) over a 30-day run.

Backers can secure a copy of the game at the MX$299 tier (approximately $17 USD), with higher tiers offering an artbook, soundtrack, acrylic keychain set, sticker set, and other rewards.

Moonlight Pale's audio and localization credentials include a soundtrack by composer Arai Tasuku (credits include NieR: Automata collaborations) and a fully voiced cast featuring Chiisa, Diana Garnet, Lizzie Freeman, Kira Buckland, and Michelle Marie.

The title will launch with English, Japanese, and Spanish text support.

For Nintendo Switch owners, the game will be available both digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop and as a physical release.

The physical lineup includes a premium 'Super Eclipse' edition featuring a mini art book, magnetic keychain, enamel pin, an acrylic diorama, and special packaging.

Stretch goals on the Kickstarter roadmap include additional language support, Mac and Linux ports, extra game modes, console ports for Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, and additional animated cutscenes.
