Released for Nintendo Switch in March 2021 and later ported to Windows via Steam in January 2022, Monster Hunter Rise and its paid expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (released June 30, 2022), have become core entries in Capcom’s long-running Monster Hunter series.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Capcom celebrated the milestone and shared a new piece of promotional artwork showing multiple characters enjoying the game’s iconic Bunny Dango food item.
The publisher thanked the community of players, referring to them as “hunters of Kamura,” and noted that the title and its expansion are currently discounted across digital storefronts.
Paraphrasing Capcom’s message: the developer announced that Monster Hunter Rise has reached 20 million copies sold, expressed gratitude to the player base, and released a Dango-themed celebratory illustration while highlighting active discounts on Nintendo eShop and Steam.
Concurrent with the announcement, Capcom reduced the digital price for Monster Hunter Rise on the Nintendo eShop to $4.99.
The bundle that includes Monster Hunter Rise and the Sunbreak expansion is listed at $9.99 on the eShop.
At the time of publication, those are the lowest listed eShop prices observed for those SKUs.
The discounts are also reflected on Steam’s storefront, where Monster Hunter Rise is available for Windows players.
Developer and publisher Capcom has steadily supported Rise with post-launch updates and the large-scale Sunbreak expansion, which added new locales, monsters, and mechanics.
The combined sales performance underscores the title’s ongoing commercial success following its multi-platform rollout.
Availability and platforms: Monster Hunter Rise is available now on Nintendo Switch and Windows via Steam, with the Sunbreak expansion purchasable separately or as part of bundle editions.
