Monochrome Echoes – White – Coming to Nintendo Switch: Mebius Confirms Japan eShop Summer Launch

Publisher Mebius has confirmed that Monochrome Echoes – White – is coming to Nintendo Switch, with a release scheduled for sometime this summer on Japan's eShop.

The announcement brings the 2025 PC title to Nintendo's platform after the game initially launched on Steam earlier this year.

Developed with game design credited to Hironori Kato and produced by Toshimichi Kuwahara of Thousand Games, Monochrome Echoes – White – is described in official materials as an otherworldly summoning RPG set in a binary white and black fantasy world.

The title adapts and expands systems from the hack-and-slash RPG Quester, emphasizing exploration, build freedom, and randomized equipment.

According to the publisher's description, the game centers on a hero summoned from another world to an archipelago of ruins where a Demon King must be periodically resealed.

Gameplay blends hack-and-slash combat with elements such as class changes, skill panels, bounties, and a map development mechanic that unfolds as players explore.

Unique weapons and equipment carry skills that can be combined for tactical effects, and players can form parties from a roster of characters before venturing into randomized areas.

The PC release received an English translation after its Steam launch.

Mebius has announced the Switch release for Japan only at this time, and no official western eShop release or localized Switch version has been confirmed.

Monochrome Echoes also exists in a Black variation that randomizes dungeon layouts.

The publisher has not stated whether Monochrome Echoes – Black – will be released on Nintendo Switch alongside or after the White edition.

A gameplay trailer accompanying the Switch announcement showcases exploration and combat systems that mirror the Steam version, including class swapping and skill panel progression.

The Switch edition will be priced at 2,800 Yen on the Japanese eShop.

For Nintendo Switch owners and RPG fans tracking ports from Steam, this summer's Japanese eShop release is a notable addition.

Mebius and Thousand Games are listed on the announcement, and further localization or international release details will need official confirmation from the publisher.
