Mina the Hollower Launches October 2025 with Day-One Nintendo Switch 2 Support

Yacht Club Games’ anticipated title, Mina the Hollower, is set to invigorate the indie game scene as it launches on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on October 31, 2025.

Announced during the latest Indie World Showcase, the follow-up to Shovel Knight will not only debut on these platforms simultaneously but brings exclusive enhancements for the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2 on day one. Originally revealed back in 2022, Mina the Hollower is Yacht Club Games’ newest action-adventure, blending pixel-perfect graphics with classic Zelda-inspired gameplay.

Building on the developer’s legacy established with the critically acclaimed Shovel Knight series, this latest endeavor demonstrates Yacht Club’s continued commitment to high-quality, genre-defining indie titles. A key highlight from the Indie World Showcase was Yacht Club Games’ confirmation that Mina the Hollower will release on Nintendo Switch before other consoles, with a dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 port available at launch.

This native Switch 2 version introduces major performance upgrades, allowing players to experience the game at a fluid 120 frames per second in both handheld and docked modes.

While docked mode delivers a sharp 1440p resolution, the portable experience does not compromise on smoothness, emphasizing Yacht Club's optimization for Nintendo's new hardware. Additional features exclusive to the Switch 2 version include mouse support, a nod to the game’s titular character and a refined gameplay element.

As stated by Yacht Club Games, players can expect to fully embody the role of the mouse protagonist through these innovative controls—demonstrating the studio’s playful yet technical ambition.

Details on the extent of mouse integration remain limited, but comparisons were drawn to the seamless experience found in titles like Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. As part of the lead-up to Mina the Hollower's release, a limited-time demo is now available on both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms via the eShop.

The demo covers the opening stage and first boss encounter, with the added bonus that any progress made will carry over to the full game at launch.
