Charles Martinet to Celebrate Mario Legacy at MCM Comic Con 2025 in Birmingham

Charles Martinet, the long-time voice actor for Nintendo’s legendary Mario, is set to make a special appearance at MCM Comic Con Birmingham 2025.

The event, one of the UK’s largest and most anticipated pop culture conventions, will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from November 28th to 30th, 2025.

This appearance marks a significant moment for fans as Martinet continues to champion the Mario brand even after stepping down from voicing the iconic character. For more than two decades, Charles Martinet brought Mario to life across countless Nintendo games, from the Super Mario series on the Nintendo Switch to earlier classics on legacy hardware.

While it was recently announced that Martinet would no longer serve as the character’s main voice, his involvement with Nintendo endures through promotional appearances and celebrations of Nintendo’s world-renowned mascot. Martinet’s participation at MCM Comic Con spans all three days of the event, with unique opportunities for fans to meet the acclaimed actor.

Attendees will be able to seek autographs, take photographs, and, perhaps most notably, attend a special panel.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 29th at 12:30pm, this panel will be accessible to both Saturday and Weekend ticket holders at no added cost.

During the session, Martinet will delve into the vocal inspirations and techniques that defined his portrayal of Mario, alongside sharing stories from his extensive experience in game development and voice acting. Adding to the convention’s star-studded lineup, Neil Newbon—celebrated for his voice work in games such as Baldur's Gate 3 and Resident Evil: Village—will also attend on Friday and Saturday, offering his own industry perspectives.
