This week marks a significant update for the Nintendo Switch eShop, with two of Nintendo’s most beloved platformers – Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 – launching as a remastered bundle.
Available now for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, this edition features enhanced visuals, offering 1080p resolution on Switch and up to 4K on Switch 2 through a free update, bringing new life to these iconic 3D adventures.
Originally developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo, Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel set new standards for 3D platforming on the Wii with expansive, gravity-defying levels, innovative power-ups, and memorable musical scores.
In this revived bundle, players will enjoy not only upgraded graphics but also a newly introduced Assist Mode, which allows for a more accessible experience for newcomers and returning fans alike.
Additional storybook content has also been included, offering fresh insights into the Galaxy universe.
As Nintendo described in their official press release, these enhancements aim to make "two of Mario’s greatest adventures more inviting and visually stunning than ever before."
Alongside Mario’s stellar return, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition arrives on the eShop this week.
This classic RPG, developed by Square Enix, has been meticulously upgraded for Nintendo’s latest hardware, featuring fully voiced dialogue, enhanced graphics, and refined gameplay mechanics.
Players can once again experience the deep tactical battles and character-driven storytelling that established Final Fantasy Tactics as a genre-defining title.
Both Nintendo Switch 2 and the legacy Switch system have their own versions accessible through the Nintendo eShop.
Complementing the suite of new game releases, Nintendo Music is now featuring the official soundtrack for Princess Peach Showtime! The lively and energetic music – including tracks such as “A Perfect Rehearsal” and “Captivating Prelude” – is available for streaming via the Nintendo Music app, providing gamers with more ways to celebrate their favorite Nintendo moments.
Nintendo has also increased purchase limits on the My Nintendo Store, allowing customers to buy up to two Switch 2 consoles and select accessories per customer.
The Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, launched earlier this year, is available for purchase without invitation, reflecting increased availability and strong consumer demand.
In addition to its headline titles, this week’s eShop update delivers a robust selection of indie and third-party releases, such as Monument Valley: The Collection, Castle of Heart: Retold, and Mystery Pathways: Crystal Quest, along with multiple titles debuting throughout the week.
Gamers can also find a comprehensive list of discounts and promotional offers on the Nintendo Store’s sales page.
With the arrival of the Super Mario Galaxy bundle and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, the Nintendo Switch platform continues to cement its reputation as a home for both classic revivals and new experiences.
As always, fans can visit the official Nintendo eShop or the My Nintendo Store for further details on these releases, music additions, and ongoing sales.
