Maliki: Poison of the Past Launches on Nintendo Switch—Adventure RPG Showcases Unique Time-Bending Gameplay
Ankama Games, in collaboration with Blue Banshee, has officially launched its latest adventure RPG, Maliki: Poison of the Past, on Nintendo Switch.
The game’s release this week is highlighted by a final launch trailer, celebrating its arrival on the Nintendo eShop and offering players a glimpse into its imaginative world and innovative gameplay mechanics.
Set in a dystopian future, Maliki: Poison of the Past presents a narrative where humanity stands on the verge of extinction, threatened by a mysterious force known only as the Poison—a monstrous plant entity capable of distorting the space-time continuum.
In this universe, the enigmatic protagonist Maliki bands together with a group of temporal survivors, establishing a sanctuary known as the Domaine.
This unique refuge exists outside of time and shields its inhabitants from the ever-present menace.
Players assume the role of Sand, embarking on a journey across various eras to restore balance to the disrupted continuum.
Leveraging the versatile Chrono Pack, gamers can manipulate time itself, tackling intricate puzzles and battling formidable enemies that have invaded the timelines.
Sand is joined by a colorful ensemble, including Becky, Fang, and Fenimale, each contributing distinct personalities and abilities to the adventure.
Within the Domaine, players can rest and strategize, tend to the vital Thousand-Root Tree—a key protector against the Poison—and engage in activities such as harvesting, cooking, and equipment upgrades.
The game offers a blend of RPG mechanics and resource management, allowing players to customize accessories and prepare their heroes for increasingly challenging missions through time.
Maliki: Poison of the Past distinguishes itself through its richly detailed universe, memorable cast, and inventive story, all brought to life by distinctive anime-inspired visuals.
The developers describe the game as a deeply emotional ecological fable, combining sharp humor and original design to deliver a memorable narrative experience.
To mark the launch, Ankama Games and Blue Banshee released a final trailer emphasizing the game’s dynamic animation, time-bending combat, and eclectic cast.
The title is now available for digital download via the Nintendo eShop, extending the Nintendo Switch’s diverse library of inventive indie RPGs.
