Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially unveiled a brand-new trailer for Little Nightmares 3, offering fans a deeper glimpse into the chilling environments and unsettling terrors that await in the next installment of the acclaimed horror puzzle platformer series.
Developed for the first time by Supermassive Games, known for their expertise in atmospheric storytelling, the sequel promises an expanded experience on the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
The newly released trailer highlights the innovative features Supermassive Games is bringing to the franchise.
Most notably, Little Nightmares 3 will be fully playable as a single-player adventure, but will also introduce online cooperative play— a franchise first.
This allows players to confront the game’s harrowing challenges with a friend, amplifying both the tension and teamwork required to escape the game’s macabre world.
In a statement regarding the game’s new direction, Supermassive Games affirmed their intent to "expand on the series’ atmospheric storytelling while providing both solo and cooperative experiences that let players tackle their deepest fears together." By integrating online co-op, the developer is extending the series’ appeal and adding a new layer of player interaction for returning fans and newcomers alike.
Players will step into the shoes of two new protagonists, Low and Alone, as they journey through a mysterious realm known as the Spiral in their quest to escape the ominous dimension called Nowhere.
As depicted in the trailer, each character wields a unique item—Low with a bow and arrow, and Alone with a wrench.
These tools will be instrumental in navigating the game’s intricate puzzles and evading sinister adversaries such as the daunting Monster Baby, found within the Necropolis environment.
Little Nightmares 3 is scheduled to launch worldwide, both in retail stores and digitally via the Nintendo eShop, for the Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Switch 2 on October 10, 2025.
The global release ensures players across all major regions will have immediate access on launch day, cementing the series’ ongoing popularity and accessibility on Nintendo hardware.
The Little Nightmares franchise continues to be celebrated for its evocative art direction, psychological horror themes, and clever puzzle design.
With sales milestones and a loyal fanbase spanning previous entries, Bandai Namco’s collaboration with Supermassive Games sets high expectations for this latest release.
As the October 2025 release approaches, fans can look forward to more details and deeper dives during future Nintendo Direct presentations and updates on the Nintendo eShop.
