LEVEL-5 has officially announced the highly anticipated Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, set for global release on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on August 21, 2025.
As the latest entry in the acclaimed hyperdimensional football RPG series, Victory Road promises to return to the franchise’s roots while introducing innovative next-generation features and storytelling.
The upcoming installment will be available both physically at retail and digitally via the Nintendo eShop.
A highlight from LEVEL-5’s recent promotional video is the debut of the game’s ending theme song, "Guidepost." Composed by Noriyasu Agematsu, arranged by Junpei Fujita, performed by vocalist Hinano Iwasaki, and featuring lyrics crafted by LEVEL-5 CEO Akihiro Hino, the track embodies the spirit of overcoming adversity at the heart of Victory Road’s narrative.
Building on the series’ legacy, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road offers two main modes—Story Mode and Chronicle Mode.
In Story Mode, players will follow Destin Bellows (Unmei Sasanami), a boy who dreams of a world without football, and Harper Evans (Haru Endo), a prodigious talent recognized as a "football monster." This tale of underdogs and perseverance centers on Destin’s journey at South Cirrus Junior High School, where he learns to embrace the sport anew alongside a cast of friends.
For long-time fans and series newcomers alike, Chronicle Mode is set to be expansive, boasting a roster of over 5,200 characters from every era of Inazuma Eleven.
Players join Victorio, a time-traveling protagonist, as they revisit iconic matches aboard the Inazuma V Caravan.
Competing in Chronicle Competition Routes rewards players with Bond Stars, which can be used to unlock and recruit characters in the Player’s Universe and Bond Alley.
Emphasizing innovation, Victory Road introduces new football gameplay systems.
Players can opt for "Manual Mode" to control athletes directly, or "Commander Mode" for a more tactical approach.
This flexibility is designed to cater to both action-focused and strategic players, allowing everyone to participate at their preferred pace and challenge level—all while unleashing the series’ signature special moves.
The game further enhances social elements through Bond Station.
Here, fans can customize their own Bond Town by arranging nostalgic series artifacts, create avatars, invite friends, and share matches online.
With deep customization options and robust multiplayer features, the experience is tailored for both community interaction and solo play.
Collaboration with renowned animation studio MAPPA takes the in-game visuals to new heights.
The developers promise the longest anime runtime in series history, ensuring a dramatic and immersive experience.
LEVEL-5 highlights that these extended cutscenes elevate the narrative’s emotional stakes and overall impact.
Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road exemplifies LEVEL-5’s ongoing commitment to innovative RPG experiences on Nintendo hardware.
As the August 2025 launch approaches, excitement only continues to build for this next-gen football adventure on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, which aims to captivate both newcomers and series veterans through its deep gameplay, nostalgic homage, and anime-quality storytelling.
