LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 — TT Games Reveals 2026 Release Plans

Warner Bros. Games, DC and The LEGO Group have released a story trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, a new action-adventure LEGO title from developer TT Games that the publishers say is in development for Nintendo Switch 2. The partners also list a 2026 release window for retail and digital distribution on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch platforms worldwide. Background and development TT Games—known for its long-running LEGO franchise—frames Legacy of the Dark Knight as a story-led campaign that traces Batman’s origins and expands into a sprawling, open-world LEGO take on Gotham City. The studio described the project as an opportunity for players to experience a narrative inspired by Batman’s 86-year history across films, TV, comics and games, all delivered with TT Games’ signature LEGO humour. Gameplay and features According to the trailer and publisher materials, the game opens with Bruce Wayne’s formative training with the League of Shadows and moves forward as players recruit an ensemble cast of allies, including Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman and Talia al Ghul. The Rogues Gallery slated to appear includes major antagonists such as The Joker, The Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul and Bane. TT Games has introduced a new LEGO Batman combat system intended to reflect Batman’s distinctive fighting style, featuring fluid combos, counters and cinematic takedowns. The game supports two-player local cooperative play or solo Batman gameplay, and retains classic LEGO gadget interactions—Batarangs to distract or stun enemies and a Batclaw for grappling. Partner characters bring unique tools to encounters—examples listed by the publisher include Jim Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher and Catwoman’s whip—to create varied approaches to enemies and bosses. New difficulty options are included, with a Caped Crusader enhanced setting and a harder Dark Knight mode for players seeking increased challenge. Open world and customization Gotham City is presented as an open-world LEGO playground with crimes to stop, puzzles, collectibles and traversal options such as grappling, gliding with the Batglider and driving multiple Batmobiles and Batcycles. The Batcave will be customizable to show vehicles, trophies and wearable Batsuits drawn from past Batman media. Release and availability Publishers have scheduled LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for retail and digital release in 2026, with Nintendo eShop availability listed for Nintendo Switch systems and development noted for Nintendo Switch 2.
