Chicken Run: Eggstraction Announced for Nintendo Switch—Outright Games Teams With Aardman for Action-Stealth Adventure

Outright Games, the family-friendly publisher, has partnered with the celebrated animation studio Aardman to announce 'Chicken Run: Eggstraction,' a new action-stealth video game set to launch on Nintendo Switch.

Building on the legacy of the popular Chicken Run films, this title brings the eccentric poultry universe to gaming audiences with a unique blend of stealth mechanics and cooperative gameplay.

Chicken Run: Eggstraction follows the events of 'Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.' In this original story, the franchise’s feathered protagonists set out to rescue their fellow chickens from captivity in the clutches of the notorious nugget industry.

Players will be tasked with sneaking through five heavily guarded farms, where they must evade new security measures—ranging from surveillance cameras and alert farm workers to clever obstacles like traffic cone hiding spots.

The gameplay encourages a strategic and stealthy approach, offering the option to play solo or alongside a friend in local two-player co-op mode. Fans of the film series will be delighted to hear that Molly and Frizzle, voiced by Bella Ramsey and Josie Sedgwick-Davies respectively, are making a return.

The game script is crafted by Larry Rickard, who also contributed to 'Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.' Notably, new irreverent villains join the fray, and players can anticipate a special cameo appearance from the beloved characters Wallace and Gromit, seen in 'Vengeance Most Fowl.' Aardman Managing Director Sean Clarke commented on the collaboration, noting the studio’s enthusiasm for expanding the Chicken Run universe into interactive entertainment.

Clarke stated that developing a project of this scale has offered Aardman an 'exciting opportunity to broaden the world of Chicken Run and deliver fresh, engaging experiences for both long-standing and new fans.' Stephanie Malham, Managing Director at Outright Games, highlighted the significance of this release, underscoring that it marks the first Chicken Run video game in a quarter of a century.

'Aardman’s signature visual style has been authentically brought to life in this video game adaptation,' Malham explained, expressing eagerness for families and fans to experience the chaos and humor synonymous with the franchise. Chicken Run: Eggstraction is scheduled for a global release, both physically and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch, in Autumn 2025.
