Kyouran Makaism Announced: Nippon Ichi Software Brings New 3D Action RPG to Nintendo Switch 2

In a significant announcement for RPG enthusiasts, Nippon Ichi Software has officially revealed their latest title, Kyouran Makaism, scheduled for release on both Nintendo Switch 2 and the current Nintendo Switch.

The action RPG is set to launch on January 29, 2025, further bolstering the eShop lineup with a unique blend of fast-paced combat and deep character progression, crafted by some of the most renowned figures in the Japanese gaming industry. Kyouran Makaism introduces players to the tumultuous Netherworld, where chaos erupts after a subordinate devours the legendary First Radiance Pudding and instigates a rebellion.

Players take on the role of Neuer, a skilled mercenary tasked with restoring order and reclaiming the stolen delicacy.

The narrative sets the stage for a visually dynamic and strategically rich 3D action RPG experience. The game's development is led by Minoba Shunsuke, with character design from the acclaimed Takehito Harada—best known for his work on the Disgaea series—and a soundtrack composed by Sato Tenpei.

Players can develop characters up to level 9999, taking advantage of classic Nippon Ichi Software elements like "Reincarnation" for stat resets and bonuses, "Magic Abilities" for battle enhancements, and the "Character World" for deep character refinement.

In addition, the "Item World" enables equipment upgrades, while the "Innocent" system allows further stat boosts, ensuring a loop of addictive growth and customization reminiscent of NIS’s flagship franchises.
