Nintendo Reveals Kirby Air Riders Amiibo Launching for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo has officially announced an exciting expansion to the Kirby universe with the reveal of the first Kirby Air Riders amiibo during this week's Nintendo Direct presentation.

This major announcement introduces the Kirby & Warp Star amiibo and Bandana Waddle Dee & Winged Star amiibo, both scheduled to launch alongside the upcoming Kirby Air Riders video game for Nintendo Switch 2. Kirby Air Riders is set to release both physically and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 globally on November 20, 2025.

The game marks the latest chapter in the long-standing Kirby franchise and brings new amiibo integration to enhance player experiences, leveraging Nintendo’s innovative hardware capabilities. A standout feature of the Kirby Air Riders amiibo is their interchangeable functionality.

Players can swap characters and vehicles between the amiibo bases—allowing Kirby to ride the Winged Star or Bandana Waddle Dee to command the Warp Star.

This flexible design creates a variety of Rider & Air Ride Machine combinations, delivering more customization and strategic depth to in-game play. By tapping the amiibo to the Nintendo Switch 2, players unlock Figure Player (FP) support in-game.

These FPs can be trained, gaining FP levels and increasing their proficiency with each air ride machine.

Notably, each FP retains its unique level progress, even when moved between different combinations of figures and vehicles.

This innovation encourages players to experiment and develop their own custom Rider & Machine duos for competitive and cooperative gameplay alike.
