Ironhide Game Studio, the acclaimed developer renowned for its innovative tower defense titles, is set to expand its Nintendo portfolio with the upcoming release of Kingdom Rush on Nintendo Switch.

According to an official Nintendo eShop listing, the remastered version of the original Kingdom Rush will debut on July 30, marking the franchise’s highly anticipated arrival on the hybrid platform. Originally launched in 2011, Kingdom Rush quickly established itself as a genre-defining title within the tower defense community, lauded for its tactical depth, charming art direction, and engaging gameplay mechanics.

Ironhide Game Studio's decision to bring this celebrated classic to the Nintendo Switch reflects both sustained fan demand and the enduring appeal of the Kingdom Rush series, which has amassed millions of downloads across multiple platforms since its inception. In its Switch incarnation, Kingdom Rush offers players an enriched tactical experience that stays true to the game's roots while introducing enhancements to match the platform’s capabilities.

Set in the fantastical realm of Linirea, players will strategize their defenses across forests, mountains, and wastelands, customizing their approach with a suite of dynamic tower upgrades and specializations.

The remastered edition also introduces an exclusive feature: the Sunray Tower, a brand-new addition designed to elevate tactical possibilities and diversify in-game strategies. Players can anticipate "epic defense battles" that promise hours of captivating gameplay.

The title includes nine specialized tower upgrades, over 18 tower abilities—such as summoning elemental allies and polymorphing foes—and a roster of more than 50 enemy types, each presenting unique challenges.

With 12 distinct heroes to command, players can further tailor their approach, facing off against formidable bosses in intense battles that test their tactical skill. Kingdom Rush on Switch will feature high-definition cartoon art, ensuring the franchise’s signature visual style shines on the console.

The game offers an in-game encyclopedia, 60+ achievements, and additional modes designed to push experienced strategists to their limits. "We’ve poured our passion into reintroducing Kingdom Rush for a new audience on Nintendo Switch, integrating fan-favorite features with exciting new content," a spokesperson for Ironhide Game Studio stated via official channels.

The studio emphasized its commitment to delivering an accessible yet deep tower defense experience that both newcomers and longtime fans will enjoy. Kingdom Rush will be available digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop starting July 30.

The launch reaffirms Ironhide Game Studio’s reputation for crafting high-quality indie experiences and adds another standout title to the Switch’s expansive eShop lineup.
