She recalled: “During the early stages of Bayonetta 1, while I was sketching character concepts, Kamiya would often appear behind me and quietly insist, ‘Give her glasses.’ Over time, it became a routine for me to include a glasses layer in every draft.

Despite various redesigns and creative challenges, the glasses always remained an essential element.” Bayonetta’s ongoing prominence on Nintendo platforms, particularly the Nintendo Switch, and her enduring popularity in the eShop highlight the power of deliberate character design.
