Rhythm Heaven Groove reclaimed the top spot on the boxed software chart, several new releases entered the top ten, and the Nintendo Switch 2 continued to lead weekly hardware sales.
Software highlights
According to Famitsu's boxed sales data, Rhythm Heaven Groove sold 126,073 copies during the week, pushing its cumulative total to 519,451 units.
New release Magical Girl with Trials debuted at number two with 21,283 boxed sales.
Long-running seller Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream remained in the top three, registering 20,827 sales and a lifetime total of 1,457,949 units.
Other notable boxed debuts included Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced at fourth place (17,152 units), Echoes of Aincrad: Sword Art Online at fifth (16,092 units), and two versions of Digimon Story: Time Stranger: the Switch 2 release at sixth with 15,644 units and the Switch release at eighth with 11,251 units.
Gran Blue Fantasy: Relink - Endless Ragnarok, CRAZY CHAIN: Elpis no Kusari, and Powerful Pro Baseball 2026-2027 also appeared on the top ten.
Famitsu's data make clear that the sheer volume of new entries reshaped the top ten this week; as a result, Star Fox titles were pushed out of the top ten entirely, a notable shift from prior weeks.

Hardware snapshot
On the hardware side, the Nintendo Switch 2 led weekly sales with 28,755 units, bringing its lifetime total to 6,026,931 units, according to Famitsu.
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition sold 10,657 units in the same period.
The Switch OLED model and Switch Lite reported 4,056 and 4,040 weekly sales respectively, with lifetime totals of 9,607,157 and 6,992,757.
