All Nippon Airways (ANA) and The Pokémon Company have revealed the liveries for two of three planned Pokémon-themed aircraft set to enter service in 2026.
The collaboration celebrates the Pokémon franchise’s 30th anniversary and ANA’s 40th anniversary and was first announced in February.
ANA confirmed the three-jet rollout will take place in 2026 with two designs—Pokémon Jet Red and Pokémon Jet Green—now publicly disclosed; the third, Pokémon Jet Blue, has not yet been revealed.
Designs and fleet details
- Pokémon Jet Red: Boeing 787-8 (Aircraft Number: JA819A).
The Red livery showcases Fire-type starter Pokémon spanning the series, from Charmander through Pombon.
Jet Red is scheduled to begin domestic service in Japan in late July 2026.
- Pokémon Jet Green: Boeing 787-9 (Aircraft Number: JA923A).
The Green livery celebrates Grass-type starters from Bulbasaur up to Browt.
ANA has indicated this aircraft will operate international routes later in 2026.
- Pokémon Jet Blue: Boeing 737-800 (Aircraft Number: to be announced).
ANA says Jet Blue’s design will be disclosed at a later date; it is widely expected to complete the trio.
ANA first introduced a Pokémon-themed jet in 1998 and has periodically operated specially liveried aircraft since then.
In promotional material accompanying the 2026 announcement, the airline highlighted past Pokémon liveries and the new designs as part of the company’s ongoing Pokémon-themed initiatives.
On-board amenities and merchandise
ANA has also revealed designs for limited-edition on-board items tied to the new liveries, including cups, cocktail napkins, and headrest covers that will appear on Jet Red and Jet Green.
In an official statement, ANA said details on commemorative products for passengers and original Pokémon merchandise will be released at a later date, indicating additional announcements are forthcoming.
Context for Nintendo and the Pokémon ecosystem
The Pokémon franchise remains a major pillar for Nintendo platforms, with recent mainline titles and spin-offs released on Nintendo Switch developed by Game Freak and other partnered studios.
This ANA collaboration underscores the franchise’s cross-industry appeal, extending Pokémon’s visibility beyond games and into experiential marketing on commercial air routes.
What’s next
ANA has confirmed the domestic launch timeline for Jet Red and noted that Jet Blue will also operate domestic Japanese routes, with its launch date to be announced soon.
Jet Green’s international service is planned for later in 2026.
Further commercial and passenger-product details will be disclosed in future ANA announcements.
