The Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport will officially reopen on July 7, 2026, following a themed renovation that turns Ishikawa prefecture’s regional air hub into a long-term Pokémon showcase.

The project is part of Japan’s wider recovery and cultural-renewal efforts and ties into the national Pokémon With You initiative led by The Pokémon Company and local authorities.

Renovation highlights confirmed by reporting in EuroNews and Aerospace Global News include a comprehensive Pokémon overlay across the terminal.

The airport will feature approximately 111 flying-type Pokémon installed around the facility, with Pikachu displayed prominently at the center of the design.

The renovation is explicitly billed as a visual and experiential refresh rather than a gaming tie-in: no Mega Evolutions or regional forms will be used in the airport’s installations.

Visitors can expect themed floors, a new airport logo, and a dedicated gift shop offering officially licensed merchandise.

EuroNews lists items that will be available at launch such as keychains, suitcase belts, luggage tags, and t-shirts.

The redevelopment also includes branded transport liveries—airport shuttles and buses will be wrapped in Pokémon designs—and ancillary local features reported around the region, including Pokémon-themed footbaths and hot springs.

A new piece of site-specific artwork titled "Sky of Hope" will be unveiled for the airport opening.

Ishikawa prefecture officials described the work as symbolizing a longing for the open sky and the joy of flight, intended to evoke hope for new journeys through the use of bright lighting and rainbow motifs.

EuroNews and Aerospace Global News note that the Noto Satoyama project is only the first stage of an expanded Pokémon With You program that will roll out additional themed facilities across Japan in the coming months.

The airport’s Pokémon branding is planned to support a slate of events and activations scheduled to run over a three-year period following the July 2026 reopening.

The Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport represents a distinctive crossover between regional infrastructure renewal and a major global entertainment brand.

For travelers and Pokémon fans visiting Ishikawa prefecture after July 7, 2026, the airport will serve as both a transportation hub and an official Pokémon-themed destination.
