Description

Indie run-and-gun sensation Iron Meat continues its push onto the Nintendo Switch platform, unveiling a significant update packed with fresh gameplay modes, weapons, and enemies.

Developed by Ivan Suvorov, Iron Meat has gained recognition for its frenetic action, metallic aesthetic, and engaging design, drawing inspiration from classic shooters but infusing the genre with modern features. Now available on the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop, Iron Meat’s latest patch introduces players to three innovative modes: Arcade, Boss Rush, and Mutation.

Each of these add-on features significantly expands the way fans can experience the game’s unique blend of bullets and bio-horror. The Arcade mode offers a traditional challenge with a set limit on continues, recalling the intensity and high-stakes gameplay of retro arcade run-and-guns.

In Boss Rush mode, players will confront every formidable boss Iron Meat has to offer, one after another, with the strategic ability to select their preferred weaponry before each fight, adding a tactical layer to these demanding encounters. Mutation mode brings customization to the forefront.

This setting allows players to tinker with a collection of 10 distinct 'Mutator' modifiers, tailoring play sessions to their desired level of difficulty or wildness.

Each mutator adjusts mechanics or game parameters, breathing new life into every playthrough. Complementing these new modes, the update enhances the firepower arsenal with two distinct weapons built to amplify the on-screen mayhem.

The 'F' Flamethrower is a close-range armament that projects a barrage of fireballs tracking the player’s aim, ideal for those who want high damage in tight quarters.

Meanwhile, the 'P' Particle Gun—a weapon affectionately dubbed "The Bacon Gun" by insiders—unleashes a torrent of particle projectiles for widespread devastation. Iron Meat’s world becomes even more treacherous, thanks to the addition of wall-crawling zombies.

This fresh enemy type populates both background and foreground environments, scaling stage elements and adding new dimensions to the chaos as players blast their way through levels. Following its recent release on Nintendo Switch, Iron Meat continues to grow its audience within the indie gaming community and beyond.

With these robust updates, developer Ivan Suvorov further demonstrates a commitment to post-launch support and evolving gameplay, ensuring a dynamic and challenging experience for both newcomers and seasoned fans.

The update is now live, and players can download it directly from the Nintendo eShop, making it a perfect time to revisit—or discover for the first time—this action-packed run-and-gun shooter on Nintendo’s hybrid platform.
