Although the logos were modified, Obsolete Sony conceded that the original creative work belonged to someone else and that failing to seek permission or credit the source was improper.

The statement emphasized a commitment to closing the merchandise store temporarily, pending a thorough review of all logo origins, and expressed sincere apologies to partners, affected creators, and supporters. "I want to sincerely apologize to the creator whose redrawn logos I used without permission and for my initial mishandling of the situation," the statement read in part, noting previous unsuccessful attempts to reach out directly.

Obsolete Sony underscored that they now fully appreciate the importance of respecting other creators’ efforts from the beginning. Sony Logos responded positively to the apology, stating their appreciation for the honesty in addressing the matter.
