Idea Factory and Compile Heart have confirmed a worldwide launch for Hyperspace Neptunia: Unlimited on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, with the Western release scheduled for 2027.

The announcement follows the game's initial debut in Japan in August 2026 and marks the next canonical entry in the long-running Neptunia franchise, developed by Compile Heart and published by Idea Factory.

The publisher's official overview frames the game as a time-loop survival narrative centered on the series’ protagonist, Neptune.

According to the announcement, an asteroid impact triggers global ruin, leaving Neptune stranded in a white void.

Guided by a mysterious voice and marked by numbers etched on her cheek, Neptune gains the ability to “retry,” beginning a loop of repeated endings and new beginnings.

Along the way she meets allies and adversaries as she and her friends confront the underlying cause of Doomsday.

Key features highlighted in the announcement were restated here for clarity:

- Expanded, vertical exploration: Goddesses can run, fly, and traverse larger, more open dungeons that include waterways, rooftops, and other elevated environments.

The game places a greater emphasis on aerial movement and exploration compared with previous entries.

- Aerial combat integration: Characters can switch into Goddess Forms to fight from the skies, using redesigned EXE Drive animations, an updated combo system, and encounters with massive world bosses that require more spatial freedom.

- Deep customization systems: The title expands on the series’ customization options.

Players can alter character colors, attach and edit accessories (including size and position), upgrade Processor Unit equipment found in dungeons, and use the series' Disc Make crafting to unlock new abilities.

- Visuals and character design: Series illustrator Tsunako returns to provide new illustrations and freshly designed Goddesses for this installment, maintaining the franchise’s distinctive visual identity.

An official Western trailer is available from the publisher; however, a firm Western release date beyond the 2027 window has not been provided.

Fans tracking Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and eShop releases should expect further updates from Idea Factory and Compile Heart as the 2027 launch window approaches.
