How to Unlock Zelda and Splatoon Characters Using amiibo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo continues to expand the vibrant world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, now allowing players to welcome fan-favorite characters inspired by The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon series.

This new feature arrives through a free content update, further enriching the game's already robust crossover potential.

Available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has become one of the best-selling titles in the franchise and on the platform, continually engaging its dedicated community with seasonal events, updates, and compatibility with Nintendo’s popular amiibo figures. With the latest update installed, players can use select amiibo figures to invite four unique characters—Tulin, Mineru, Viché, and Cece—to visit their island.

By leveraging these amiibo, fans of both Animal Crossing and crossover franchises can personalize their experience and deepen their collection. To get started, players must first progress in Animal Crossing: New Horizons until they unlock the Campsite feature.

Once the Campsite is available, approach the Nook Stop multimedia terminal located within Resident Services.

Select the “Invite amiibo Camper” option, confirm with “Yes, I do!”, and then tap your chosen amiibo to the NFC touchpoint on your right Joy-Con or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

Once detected, the game will prompt you to invite the related character to your Campsite where you can then interact with them directly.
