The title casts players as Chichi Wakaba, a student recruited by Professor Nakamura to explore the Data Empire and confront a mechanized threat known as the Hackernauts.
The announcement was accompanied by a console trailer and details on core mechanics, visuals, and soundtrack.
Gameplay: dual-character combat and design
Haneda Girl centers on a dynamic swap system that alternates between two contrasting playstyles.
Players control Haneda Girl herself, armed with a light katana called “KenChan,” and an alternate tactical combat mecha designated O.T.H.E.R. Haneda Girl is described as an extremely fast, high-offense character who leverages stealth, temporary invisibility, and a super-dash; however, she is vulnerable to a single hit and functions as a glass cannon.
By contrast, O.T.H.E.R. provides heavy firepower and durability, turning combat rooms into tactical action puzzles that can be cleared in multiple ways.
The developers summarized the design philosophy by framing the trade-off between speed and survivability: the solo katana approach favors rapid runs, while using both characters together enables deeper progression and strategic options.
Visual presentation and soundtrack
Studio Koba’s presentation emphasizes a retro-arcade aesthetic evoking CRT monitors.
Stages feature exaggerated explosions, oil stains, and pixelated blood, all delivered with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor.
The package is rounded out by a techno soundtrack intended to drive momentum through each level.

Haneda Girl is confirmed for Nintendo Switch with a release date of May 7.
