Description

CyberConnect2, the acclaimed studio behind several beloved RPGs, has officially unveiled plans to expand the universe of Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 with new Solatorobo: Red The Hunter downloadable content, coming to Nintendo Switch in 2025.

This announcement adds even more excitement for fans, as Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is set to mark the series’ “epic conclusion" with its most emotional narrative yet. The newly revealed Solatorobo: Red The Hunter Sound Pack introduces classic background music from the Nintendo DS cult hit, bringing a nostalgic flair to Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3’s intermission segments.

Players will be able to immerse themselves in the beloved melodies as they strategize between battles.

Joining the sound pack, the Solatorobo: Red The Hunter Costume Pack offers in-game costumes based on all 12 main characters from the original Solatorobo adventure—Malt, Mei, Hanna, Kyle, Boron, Socks, Chick, Hack, Sheena, Jin, Wappa, and Britz—letting veterans and newcomers alike experience the latest chapter in style. These DLC packs will be available as individual purchases at $4.99 each or can be accessed as part of the comprehensive Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 Season Pass, priced at $11.99 on the Nintendo eShop.

CyberConnect2 also confirmed a robust post-launch content roadmap, with a second cyberpunk-themed DLC pack scheduled for July 2025 and an additional Halloween-themed pack coming in September 2025. Addressing the structure of the trilogy, CyberConnect2 has clarified that while Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 brings the overarching story to a close, players do not need to have completed the previous entries to appreciate the new adventure.

Demonstrating their commitment to accessibility, the developer emphasized that "it is not necessary to play Fuga: Melodies of Steel or Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 to enjoy Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3." The official story overview reveals that the narrative centers on Malt's mysterious disappearance.

The group of children, guided by a strange voice into a forbidden cave, uncover the formidable Taranis tank believed to be lost forever.

United by their determination to rescue Malt, the children take control of the Taranis, embarking on a risky journey to challenge the powerful Berman Empire and their elite Crimson Knights. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 introduces several new gameplay innovations to the Nintendo Switch platform.

The battle system now incorporates weakness combos for increased damage and features assist attacks, where former adversaries and legendary warriors from previous games can aid the player’s team.

Intermissions have been significantly overhauled, allowing users to evolve the Taranis via the Omega Terminal and unlock powerful new skills to turn the tide of battle. Other enhancements include strategic route progression, where players can discover Power Spots and unlock secret events via the Akasha Panel’s unique timeline navigation tool.

These additions promise to keep seasoned fans engaged while providing fresh tactical opportunities for newcomers. Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3 is slated for a worldwide digital release on the Nintendo Switch eShop on May 29, 2025.

With CyberConnect2’s legacy of compelling storytelling and deep strategic gameplay, this conclusion to the celebrated saga—and its robust suite of Solatorobo: Red The Hunter DLC—ensure Nintendo fans have much to anticipate in the coming year.
