FromSoftware Unveils The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2: Release Set for 2026

In a significant reveal during today’s Nintendo Direct, acclaimed Japanese developer FromSoftware officially announced its latest project, The Duskbloods, slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

FromSoftware, renowned for their critically acclaimed titles such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring, continues their legacy of challenging and innovative gameplay by introducing this new multiplayer experience designed for the next generation of Nintendo hardware. The Duskbloods marks the first time FromSoftware has developed an original multiplayer title specifically targeting a Nintendo console at launch, highlighting the growing collaborative relationship between the two iconic gaming companies.

Designed from the ground up for the advanced capabilities of the Nintendo Switch 2, The Duskbloods aims to deliver a rich, immersive experience tailored for both solo players and cooperative teams. Speaking on the announcement, FromSoftware stated that The Duskbloods will expand the studio’s signature approach to world-building and player-driven narrative, leveraging the technical advancements and social features of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Studio director Hidetaka Miyazaki is set to provide deep dives into the creative process through a new video series titled "Creator’s Voice," with the premiere episode scheduled for April 4, 2024.

During the upcoming developer diary, Miyazaki will share insights into the universe, gameplay systems, and the vision that drives The Duskbloods. "We are excited to bring a fresh multiplayer experience to the Nintendo Switch 2 audience, building upon the core philosophies that define our games," explained the developer in today’s showcase.

The announcement was accompanied by the debut trailer for The Duskbloods, offering players a first look at the visual style and gameplay atmosphere that FromSoftware is known for. Although specific gameplay details remain under wraps, the studio has confirmed that The Duskbloods will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
