The studio said regular service will cease on 7th December at 8pm GMT / 9pm CET / 12pm PT / 3pm ET, after which in-game data including Jewels and items will no longer be accessible.
The developer and publisher, Genius Sonority, advised players to spend any paid Jewels before the shutdown and indicated that some refunds will be made available.
In a message posted on the game’s official site, the team apologized for the abrupt notice and explained the decision in measured terms.
The studio said it had worked daily to improve the experience since launch but concluded it could not continue providing a service that met player expectations, and therefore decided to terminate operations.
Genius Sonority also thanked the community for support over the last two years and issued a second apology for the short notice of the closure.
The New Denpa Men originally arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2024 and later saw a Switch 2 release earlier this year, which the studio said delivered improved visuals and performance tweaks.
That Switch 2 build will have been available for roughly eight months by the time service ends.
Critical reception at launch was mixed but generally positive for newcomers: our review called The New Denpa Men "a great light JRPG for anyone looking for a basic introduction to the genre," while noting that simplicity and familiar free-to-play mechanics limited its depth for some players.
With the scheduled December shutdown, players who wish to retain progression or value from purchases should act before 7th December.
Genius Sonority’s announcement provides the concrete shutdown timeline and guidance on in-game currency, but no further details on post-closure access or archival options were provided in the developer’s statement.
Publishers and developers managing live-service titles often publish timelines and refund guidance in the weeks leading up to closures; The New Denpa Men’s statement serves as the official timeline and customer-facing guidance ahead of the December service termination.
