Palia Elderwood Expansion Launches on Nintendo Switch with Major Free Update

Singularity 6 has unveiled the eagerly awaited Elderwood Expansion, now available as a free update for its multiplayer cozy sim, Palia, on Nintendo Switch.

As the largest content addition to date for Palia, the Elderwood Expansion marks a significant milestone in the game’s ongoing post-launch support and further enriches the experience for its community of players worldwide. Launched on the Nintendo eShop, Palia invites players into a vibrant world filled with exploration, crafts, and social interaction.

With the Elderwood Expansion, Singularity 6 delivers an expansive new Adventure Zone, enhancing both narrative depth and gameplay possibilities.

This free update is available to all Palia players on Nintendo Switch, reflecting the studio's ongoing commitment to supporting and expanding its free-to-play offering. According to Singularity 6, the Elderwood Expansion introduces a lush, magic-infused forest environment called the Elderwood Adventure Zone.

Here, players can embark on an all-new chapter of the main story, tackle fresh quests, and meet a new villager with deep Umbraan heritage.

The forest is brimming with new opportunities for exploration and community-driven activities, continuing the tradition of cozy, collaborative gameplay that defines Palia. One of the standout features of the expansion is the addition of Ancient Artifacts and Relics.

While exploring Elderwood, players will discover collectible Artifacts essential to the new gathering system.

Completing sets of these Artifacts unlocks schematics for powerful Relics—an entirely new equipment category designed to provide valuable buffs not just to individual adventures, but to entire parties.

Singularity 6 emphasizes the importance of teamwork to fully benefit from these powerful items. Another major gameplay enhancement addresses item gathering and the ecosystem.

Players must now contend with Infected Essence—a mysterious magical substance affecting resources found within Elderwood.

Collecting these items requires crafting specialized materials and equipment, advancing players’ abilities as they progress through the new story chapter. Updates extend to core systems like mining, which has been overhauled to offer new resources such as a rare wood-type, expanded forage options, and dedicated mining nodes for Gold, Silver, and Palium.

The new environment is also home to a variety of unique creatures—both mischievous and charming—that can be hunted, fished, or collected.

Newly introduced critters include Ogopuu, Schmole, and Rockhopper, adding even more variety to Palia’s fauna. Players with an eye for aesthetics will appreciate the decorating overhaul, which brings the Elderwood and Umbraan Decor Sets.

These exclusive furniture pieces, scattered throughout the forest, allow for greater creative personalization—especially with increased housing plot decor limits.
