Moonlight Peaks demo out now on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch

XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have released a free demo of Moonlight Peaks for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

Developed by Little Chicken Game Company, the gothic life sim offers an early hands-on look at character creation, magic-inspired mini-games, social interactions, and the cozy afterlife systems that will feature in the full release.

The full game is scheduled to launch worldwide on 7 July 2026 at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

This demo provides a preview of core systems players can expect at launch, including farm and homestead customization, relationship-building with town residents, and spellcraft mechanics.

In publisher materials, XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe framed the player experience as an opportunity to live as a vampire in a supernatural town filled with werewolves, witches, mermaids, and other residents.

The publisher described the central narrative as a personal journey to convince a skeptical father that compassion is possible even for the undead, and emphasised relationship and community systems as central pillars of gameplay.

Moonlight Peaks lets players settle into a haunted family cottage and personalise their gothic homestead.

The game’s feature list highlights relationship options with around two dozen romanceable characters, a farming loop based on enchanted crops and magical livestock, and supernatural abilities such as shapeshifting and spellcasting to aid exploration and resource gathering.

The demo also showcases several leisure and progression activities: potion brewing, foraging, fishing, crafting, hobby systems like embroidering and flower arranging, and a collectible-card pastime called Nokturna that can be played with town residents.

These systems are presented as both daily gameplay loops and ways to uncover the town’s backstory, including secrets tied to seven founding families.

For players interested in trying Moonlight Peaks ahead of the July 7, 2026 launch, the demo is available now on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

The game’s combination of life-sim mechanics, romance options, and supernatural progression positions it as a distinct entry in the indie life-sim space when it releases.
