Fortuna Magus Launches on Nintendo Switch: Kemco Expands Its Extensive RPG Library

Kemco, a renowned publisher known for delivering a steady stream of role-playing games, continues its commitment to the genre on Nintendo Switch with the announcement of Fortuna Magus.

Scheduled for release in March via the eShop, Fortuna Magus enriches Kemco’s already prolific RPG portfolio available on Nintendo’s hybrid platform. Fortuna Magus is a turn-based fantasy RPG that immerses players in a world where magic users known as magi face relentless persecution.

The story centers on siblings Amane and Tia, who embark on a deeply personal quest to find their missing father, Kalius, after his mysterious disappearance a decade prior.

Raised alongside their younger companion Lill, the siblings’ journey is triggered anew when they meet Ret, a magus whose presence alters the course of their lives. In a statement outlining the game’s narrative backdrop, representatives from Kemco emphasize the themes of hardship and family bonds: Amane is forced to make critical decisions after being labeled an outlaw for defending Ret—a vagrant magus who once aided him.

This act sets in motion a quest that not only challenges the protagonists’ strength but also their understanding of loyalty and sacrifice in a world hostile to magia prowess. Fortuna Magus is thoughtfully designed with RPG enthusiasts in mind.

Its turn-based battle system rewards strategic thinking, allowing players to fill their Technical Points (TP) meter through diverse actions, such as attacking, utilizing items, or even enduring enemy blows.

Once the TP meter reaches its peak, unique special and support skills can be unleashed, providing decisive advantages in combat.

Additionally, players can execute powerful tandem attacks by synchronizing the TP of multiple party members, making team composition and tactical planning essential components of successful play. Skill customization is a cornerstone feature.

By exploring the world, defeating adversaries, and locating magestones and shards in hidden chests, players can enhance elemental proficiency, unlock potent spells, and trigger Revelations.

These Revelations offer opportunities to acquire new skills and spells when certain conditions—such as character level or elemental alignment—are met during battle.

Experimentation is encouraged, giving players considerable flexibility in how they develop each character’s abilities. The adventure in Fortuna Magus is designed for longevity, with rich post-story content to satisfy completionists and those seeking extended enjoyment beyond the main campaign.

Fortuna Magus will be available as a digital download exclusively through the Nintendo Switch eShop, with a concrete release date to be announced soon.

For those interested in expanding their fantasy RPG collection, Fortuna Magus represents another significant addition from Kemco, solidifying the publisher’s status as a mainstay of classic RPG experiences on Nintendo Switch.
