Nintendo has unveiled the first official screenshot of the Nintendo eShop interface set to debut with the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
The reveal, hosted on the official Nintendo Switch 2 website, showcases a sleek yet familiar layout that builds upon the established Nintendo Switch eShop while introducing several noteworthy enhancements designed for improved user experience and discoverability.
The Nintendo eShop has long served as the digital storefront for Nintendo fans, offering seamless access to a vast library of games, downloadable content, and services.
With the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo seeks to streamline and update this experience, ensuring both returning users and newcomers can easily navigate and explore the growing ecosystem of titles on the latest hardware platform.
A closer look at the new interface reveals a familiar structure for core browsing categories, including 'Featured,' which continues to highlight select games personally curated by Nintendo, and essential sections such as 'Sales/Discounts,' 'New Releases,' and 'Rankings,' each providing users with easy access to popular and recently launched games.
One of the standout additions for the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop is the inclusion of the 'Recommendations for you' tab.
This new feature offers tailor-made suggestions based on users’ previous purchases and browsing habits, enhancing personalized discovery and encouraging exploration of similar titles.
Previously, the Nintendo Switch eShop lacked a dedicated, algorithm-driven recommendation system of this kind.
Further, Nintendo has revamped the wishlist feature, making it more accessible than before.
Unlike on the original Nintendo Switch eShop, where the wishlist was buried in the Accounts section, users can now quickly view and manage their wishlist directly from the main navigation.
An updated indicator also displays how many wishlist items are currently discounted, allowing users to track deals more efficiently.
Search functionality remains robust, with a tab that enables detailed filtering by category, price, and publisher–mirroring the practical search options from the previous generation but ensuring they remain central to the user experience.
Tabs such as 'Coming Soon' and 'Nintendo Switch Online' return, offering a clear overview of upcoming game releases and exclusive online content for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, respectively.
Additionally, the platform continues to support voucher code redemption, maintaining physical and digital purchase flexibility.
One visually distinctive change is the introduction of a Nintendo Switch 2 banner above hero images for titles specifically released for or updated for the new console.
This identifier will help users differentiate between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 editions when browsing the storefront.
The refreshed Nintendo eShop interface for Nintendo Switch 2 underlines Nintendo’s continued commitment to digital innovation while respecting the user-friendly design that fans have come to expect.
This evolution is timed to support one of the most eagerly awaited hardware launches in Nintendo’s history, ensuring day-one engagement for a growing global player base.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to launch with this enhanced eShop later this year.
