Freedom Wars Remastered Launches on Nintendo Switch: Release Date, Features, and Enhanced Gameplay

Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially unveiled the opening cinematic for Freedom Wars Remastered, as the beloved action game makes its highly anticipated debut on Nintendo Switch.

Originally released for the PlayStation Vita, Freedom Wars developed a dedicated fanbase thanks to its unique dystopian setting, intense gameplay mechanics, and robust cooperative features.

Gamers can now look forward to experiencing these qualities anew when Freedom Wars Remastered arrives globally on Nintendo Switch via retail and the Nintendo eShop on January 10, 2025. Set in a bleak, pollution-ravaged future, Freedom Wars draws players into a world where the remnants of humanity inhabit massive city-prisons known as Panopticons.

Due to drastically depleted resources, even existing is considered a crime, resulting in citizens—dubbed “Sinners”—serving a staggering one million-year prison sentence from birth.

The sole chance for redemption comes by battling alongside fellow Sinners: fighting for resources, rescuing kidnapped civilians from enemies, or facing off in lethal skirmishes against rival factions. Making its move from handheld to hybrid console, Freedom Wars Remastered for Nintendo Switch introduces a host of enhancements.
