FIFA and Enver have officially announced FIFA Heroes, an innovative arcade 5-a-side football game slated for release on Nintendo Switch in 2026.

Designed for both new and veteran fans of the genre, FIFA Heroes blends dynamic football gameplay with a roster that unites iconic FIFA mascots, world-renowned players, and beloved fictional characters from television and film.

The collaboration between FIFA and development studio Enver, alongside Solace, aims to offer a fresh, family-friendly take on virtual football with both competitive and cooperative modes. Drawing from FIFA’s rich heritage, FIFA Heroes introduces a new dimension to football video games by allowing players to craft custom teams made up of celebrated mascots, legendary footballers, and famous personalities from pop culture.

Notably, the game features the official mascots of the FIFA World Cup 2026’s host countries: Maple for Canada, Zayu for Mexico, and Clutch for the United States.

Each mascot has distinct super abilities and signature moves, bringing unique flair and strategic depth to the game. FIFA Heroes sets itself apart with its fast-paced arcade action and engaging power moves.

Through multiple modes, players can master tactical football skills while taking on dynamic, match-based challenges and progressing through a player-versus-environment career mode.

Speaking on the new title, Christian Volk, FIFA’s Director of Gaming and Esports, emphasized FIFA’s ongoing commitment to uniting people through their shared love of football.

He commented that FIFA Heroes enables fans to create multiverse teams, merging their favorite fictional heroes, world-famous players, and FIFA’s longstanding mascots.

According to Volk, FIFA Heroes not only introduces football to a new generation but also rekindles nostalgia for families and veteran gamers, effectively complementing the organization’s growing FIFAe digital football portfolio. Echoing this sentiment, Kyle Joyce, director at Solace and founder of Enver, explained that the studios worked closely from the project’s inception to deliver a pioneering football experience.

Joyce noted that FIFA Heroes captures the excitement, speed, and drama that make the sport globally beloved, aiming to create a virtual environment where players can celebrate their love for football together.
