Farlands physical release confirmed — Tesura Games and JanduSoft plan December shipping for standard and collector's editions

Tesura Games and publisher JanduSoft have announced a physical release for Farlands, confirming that boxed copies are tentatively scheduled to ship in December.

The move follows the game's initial digital launch this past July and will offer both a standard retail edition and an expanded collector's edition.

According to the developer and publisher, the collector's edition bundles a wide array of extras: the full game, an instruction manual, a spaceship papercraft collector's box, cotton bunny plushies, an outer space slip sleeve, the original soundtrack on two CDs, a signed Planetary Ownership Certificate, a set of acrylic character standees, and a DIY attachable ship reactors and spoiler.

Tesura Games and JanduSoft characterized the release as a way to provide physical collectors with a comprehensive package that celebrates the game's aesthetic and world-building.

Farlands launched digitally this past July.

The game places players in the role of a new planetary owner who purchases a long-abandoned agrarian world at a bargain price, arriving with little more than a worn ship and a personal assistance droid.

From that starting point, players restore the planet by cutting weeds, clearing paths, reclaiming fields, and repairing what time has damaged.

Exploration is a core element: despite the ship's condition, it enables travel between planets in the system to gather resources that improve the farm, tools and vessel.

The experience also involves interacting with the small population that remains across the solar system and uncovering why those characters chose to live in such a remote corner of space.

The developer and publisher have not specified which retail outlets will carry the physical editions or whether any platform-exclusive versions will be produced.

Retailers and press outlets can expect shipment windows set for December, subject to final confirmation from Tesura Games and JanduSoft.

Farlands' physical announcement underscores a continuing trend of indie developers offering premium boxed editions to satisfy collectors and players who prefer tangible releases.
