The two-week snapshot highlights strong continuing demand for legacy Nintendo franchises on both the original Nintendo Switch (NSW) and the Nintendo Switch 2 (NS2), alongside a handful of new entries for PS5 and Switch platforms.
According to Famitsu’s weekly breakdown, Rhythm Heaven Groove sold 55,827 copies in the week of August 3–9 and surged to 83,536 the following week, bringing its cumulative total to 873,839 copies.
Splatoon Raiders for Nintendo Switch 2 remained a steady performer, moving 32,286 and 32,535 units across the two weeks for a two-week cumulative of 613,147.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream also continued to sell well on Switch, reaching a cumulative 1,562,215 after selling 18,213 and 25,671 copies across the reported weeks.
Several Nintendo franchises posted notable milestones in Famitsu’s charts.
Mario Kart World (NS2) passed 3 million cumulative sales with 32,286 and 6,280 weekly sales contributing to a total of 3,017,840.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros.
Ultimate maintain long-term presence on the NSW charts with cumulative totals of 6,598,836 and 5,942,043 respectively.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons shows a cumulative figure above 8.46 million on NSW, while NS2 editions of classic titles such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition continue to register sales on the new hardware.
The charts also include several new releases.
PS5 debuts in the top 30 include Beast of Reincarnation (43,010 first-week sales, later 5,147) and Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls (2,814).
On Switch, Route16 Collection entered the NSW top 30 as a new release with 1,516 copies in its debut week, and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered appeared on NS2 with 2,539 copies in its first week on the chart.
Famitsu supplied the weekly sales figures for August 3–9 and August 10–16, 2026; the publication’s site hosts historical charts for prior weeks.
The two-week data underscores Nintendo’s continued dominance in Japan’s boxed and physical software market, with both legacy Switch catalog titles and new Switch 2 editions contributing to overall platform momentum.
