PQube, working with developers Secret Level Studios and Twin Hearts, has confirmed that Kitaria Fables 2 is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
The sequel follows 2021’s Kitaria Fables and positions itself as a “wholesome action RPG” that combines combat, farming and crafting.
PQube’s announcement, issued via press release, outlines the new setting, protagonists and gameplay refinements planned for the Switch successor.
Setting and protagonists
Kitaria Fables 2 is set on the Arkadera Peninsula, a distant region that originally marked the western boundary of a long-vanished Empire.
PQube explains that as the Empire’s influence receded, nature reclaimed the area and survivors gathered inside the walled settlement of Whitewall Town.
The game stars two new heroes: Royal Army Pathfinder Alice Skylar, an ambitious explorer, and local guide Dusty Tuftkin, who join the Royal Academy Expedition Team.
Their mission is to reopen Whitewall Town’s errand house, repair forgotten outposts across the peninsula and investigate rumours of a mysterious figure emerging from the wilderness.
Gameplay and features
PQube and the developers say Kitaria Fables 2 keeps the franchise’s blend of action and life-sim systems while adding several quality-of-life and design upgrades.
Key, verified features announced include:
- Expanded exploration: Larger, varied environments across forests, marshes, highlands and snowy peaks encourage open exploration and reduce repetitive grinding.
- New camera and navigation: An unfixed camera provides a wider view of environments, paired with improved fast travel systems.
- Progression and combat: Experience-based levelling, distinct skill trees for Alice and Dusty, elemental spells, special attacks and ultimate abilities.
- Crafting and farming: Deeper farming mechanics with more crops, a rebuildable farmstead, material gathering and artisan-crafted equipment and potions.
- Co-op play: Full local and online co-op support so two players can play through the entire story together.
Release information
PQube confirmed that Kitaria Fables 2 will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide.
The publisher has not provided a specific release date or window.
The announcement came in a press release rather than as part of a Nintendo Direct presentation.
With its mix of RPG progression, cooperative play and expanded life-sim systems, Kitaria Fables 2 aims to broaden the scope of the 2021 original while targeting Nintendo Switch 2 owners seeking both solo and shared adventure experiences.
