Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered Delayed—Koei Tecmo Issues New Update for Nintendo Switch

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have officially announced that the highly anticipated Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will not be launching as previously scheduled.

The game, originally set for a worldwide digital release on March 19, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2 and the Nintendo eShop, has been delayed to an unspecified date. Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered marks a milestone for the beloved hack-and-slash franchise, as it will be the series’ first full remaster, promising fans an updated gameplay experience harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5.

Developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, this remaster has aimed to faithfully blend the unique 1 vs 1,000 combat phenomenon that made Dynasty Warriors a household name, while also introducing modern enhancements and visual improvements for Nintendo’s next-generation hardware. In a statement shared via social media, Dynasty Warriors series producer Tomohiko Sho clarified the reasons behind the delay.

Sho explained that, "As this is the first remaster for the Dynasty Warriors series, we want to ensure the highest quality experience for our dedicated fans.

To achieve this, we have decided to take additional time to further improve the game.

We ask for your continued patience as we work towards delivering a product that meets your expectations.

The new release date will be announced when development progresses further." Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is set to include the full content from the original Dynasty Warriors 3, as well as the Dynasty Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends expansion.

Fans can expect the return of legendary features first introduced in Dynasty Warriors 3, such as True Musou Attacks, two-player simultaneous play, and the officer development system—alongside the expanded content from Xtreme Legends, which added new scenarios, bodyguard customization options, exclusive weapons, and additional challenge modes. Players will have the opportunity to command a roster of over 40 iconic officers, experiencing historical Chinese battlefields like never before thanks to the technical enhancements offered by Unreal Engine 5.

The remaster aims to deliver both nostalgic and new experiences to longtime and new fans alike on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform. While a revised release date is pending, Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered is confirmed for digital launch on the Nintendo eShop for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the previous Nintendo Switch system.

For ongoing updates regarding release details and development progress, fans are encouraged to follow Koei Tecmo’s official channels and future Nintendo Direct presentations.
