Capcom has released the worldwide launch trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen and confirmed that Nintendo Switch 2 owners will be able to play both the base game and the new expansion. Dragon’s Dogma 2, developed and published by Capcom, originally launched on March 22, 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; Dark Arisen extends that experience with new regions, challenges and customization options. In a developer rundown, Capcom described the expansion’s new content in detail. Dark Arisen sends the Arisen to a previously abandoned northern region called Norgan, where players will partner with a mysterious character named Eir to investigate an undying Fallen Dragon. The expansion adds new relics that unlock powerful weapons and abilities, and introduces 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges — freshly uncovered dungeons built to test player prowess and reward rare equipment once wielded by earlier Arisen. Capcom also noted that the Character Creator gains additional options, including new hairstyles and tattoos, to let players further customize their Arisen. Capcom outlined several free Title Updates issued in advance of Dark Arisen that improve quality of life for returning players. The June 9 Title Update added a reusable Eternal Ferrystone to make fast travel more accessible, among other convenience changes. The September 1 Title Update delivered framerate improvements, additional save slots and an increased number of assignable weapon skills to broaden combat customization. Capcom also updated the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Character Creation & Storage app for the Nintendo Switch 2 so players can experiment with new customization options ahead of the expansion. The new launch trailer is available now across Capcom’s official channels. In addition to the trailer, Capcom released a Nintendo Switch 2 vs. PS5 graphics comparison video to show how the expansion performs and appears on each platform. For players on Nintendo Switch 2, the updated eShop listing for the Character Creation & Storage app is a convenient way to preview custom builds. For fans tracking post-launch support and expansions, Dark Arisen is Capcom’s latest substantive content drop for Dragon’s Dogma 2, building on the title updates and system-side apps designed to enhance play across platforms.
