Drag x Drive Nintendo Switch 2 Update 1.2.0 Adds Survival Tag Mode and Key Fixes

Nintendo has launched Version 1.2.0 for Drag x Drive on the Nintendo Switch 2, delivering a significant update packed with new gameplay features and enhancements.

Released on December 1, 2025, this latest patch introduces the highly anticipated Survival Tag mode, along with multiple improvements addressing both gameplay balance and technical issues.

Drag x Drive, Nintendo's dynamic racing and action title, continues to receive substantial post-launch support as its audience grows on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Version 1.2.0 update ensures both competitive and casual players can enjoy new avenues of play while experiencing a refined, stable game environment. A key addition is Survival Tag—a fast-paced, chasing game mode now available in friend parks, local wireless parks, and LAN parks.

To access Survival Tag, the host must open the X Menu and initiate the mode from the Players tab.

Nintendo has clarified that, due to occasional discrepancies in wireless synchronization, tag confirmations are validated if contact registers from either the player attempting the tag or the player being tagged.

This ensures fairness and fluid progression, distinguishing it from sports like basketball in the game, where missed contacts may not be counted due to synchronization issues. Additional gameplay metrics also see noteworthy updates.

The Iso Wins calculation under the Game Stats tab now accurately reflects only wins, not the total number of Isos.

Players will also find Rope Jumps statistics added to the Other Stats section, enhancing tracking of their in-game achievements.

The Focus Cam functionality has been adjusted to target the sumo ring more effectively during sumo events, while bot strength in parks has been slightly reduced for both Easy and Standard levels to improve accessibility for all players. User accessibility has been advanced with the inclusion of a method to delete individual records.

Players can clear their time trial or shooting contest records by holding a specific button combination for 10 seconds.

While deleted records cannot be recovered, previously obtained trophies are retained, allowing for refined leaderboard management without loss of hard-earned accolades. Version 1.2.0 also resolves several rare gameplay issues.

Notably, the patch corrects a glitch where level and distance displays could exceed normal limits and fixes a bug in Circuit Sprint mode that allowed players to pass through terrain.

A pivotal adjustment addresses situations where players used advanced bunny hop maneuvers to surpass intended speed caps.

Now, speeds above the normal limit are only achievable when descending slopes or successfully executing halfpipes or ramp tricks, restoring gameplay balance and intended mechanics. Alongside the main game update, Nintendo has released Version 1.1.1 for the Drag x Drive Demo (previously titled Drag x Drive: Global Jam).

Changes include a new name and software icon, expanded tutorial availability, and further bug fixes for a smoother demo experience. As Drag x Drive continues its development path on Nintendo Switch 2, regular updates like Version 1.2.0 reinforce Nintendo’s dedication to player feedback and delivering a polished, engaging multiplayer experience.

Players are encouraged to download the latest patch to take full advantage of the new features and improved performance.
